Obituary of George T. Waters

George Theodore Waters, 74, of Albrightsville, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2015 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Lillian (Moses) Waters to whom he had been married for nearly 52 years. Born in Montclair, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Emily (Tyson) Waters. Before his retirement, George worked at AT&T, Bell Labs, and New Jersey Bell for 30 years. In his spare time, George served as a marshal with the State of New Jersey Athletic Control Board. After his retirement, he worked for the Township of Montclair in parking enforcement. George also was a beloved school crossing guard in Montclair. In his spare time, George loved working with electronics, listening to jazz, golfing, playing the flute, serving his family church, enjoying concerts, traveling, and volunteering on different committees. In addition to his wife Lillian, he is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Waters Likins of Albrightsville, P.A. and Nicole Waters Minervino, of West Orange, N.J. George has three grandchildren, Ashley, Iliana, and Giancarlo, as well as a great-grandson, Adonis. Services are private. Donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in George's name are appreciated. Cremation has been entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
