Obituary of Carmine A. Giganti, Sr.

Carmine A. Giganti Sr., of Pocono Pines, died on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at home. He was the loving husband of Madeline (Sloat) Giganti, to whom he was married for 52 wonderful years. Born in Long Island City, New York, he was the son of the late Angelo and Maria (Vinditelli) Giganti. He was a member of the Lincoln Park Volunteer Fire Company in Lincoln Park, New Jersey, for many years, as well as a member of the Sons of Italy. He worked as a route salesman for Entenmann's Bakery before retiring. In addition to his wife, Madeline, he is survived by three sons: Carmine A. Giganti, Christoper Giganti and wife Janine, and John Giganti; one daughter, Kim Giganti; one sister, Terri Perillo; grandchildren Alexander, Samantha and Andrew Giganti; and many nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Rev. Sean Carpenter will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Pocono Pines. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
