Obituary of Philippus D. Fuchs, Jr.

Philippus D. Fuchs, Jr., 74, of Blakeslee, formerly of Downingtown, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at his home. He was the loving husband of Cathleen (Jackson) Fuchs with whom he shared 22 years of marriage. Born in Voorschoten, Holland, he was the son of the late Philippus Sr. and Maria (Van Beimen) Fuchs. Philippus worked 40 years as an electrical engineer for Pepperidge Farms in Downingtown. He moved to the Poconos after retirement in 1999. In his spare time, Philippus enjoyed playing golf, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Cathleen, he is survived by his stepson, Lee Troupe of Coatesville; stepdaughter, Candace Hess and her husband, Vincent of Denver; three brothers: Bob, Carl and Rudy Fuchs; two sisters: Maria Reczek and Tina Sokso; three grandchildren: Zac, Holli and Dylan Hess and several nieces and nephews. Philippus was preceded in death by his brother, John Fuchs. There will be a visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, November 7 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L Street NW, Washington, DC 20037. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
