Obituary of Kurt Obermeier

Kurt Obermeier, 73, of Pocono Summit, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at his home. He was the loving husband of Karen (Hefele) Obermeier whom shared 45 years of marriage. Born in Esting, Germany, he was a son of the late Georg and Rosa (Peterander) Obermeier. Kurt was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a former member of the New York Skydivers; was an avid fan of FC Bayern München and was the owner of KMK Waterproofing of Glendale New York. In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by daughters: Michelle Obermeier and her husband, Brent Walker of Hamilton, N.Y., Gabriella Obermeier and her husband, Patrick Price of Mechanicsburg; brother, Günter Obermeier of Germany; sister, Elfreiede Steinle of Germany; grandchildren: Avery, Nikolas, Sonja, Madison and Harper. There will be a memorial gathering from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 10 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Kurt may be made to a foundation near and dear to the family, the Anthony Senerchia, Jr. ALS Charitable Foundation, 417 9th Avenue, Pelham, NY 10803 or to The DeGregorio Family Foundation for Gastric and Esophageal Cancer, P.O. Box 236, Pleasantville, NY 10570. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
