Obituary of Violetta Pflueger
Violetta Pflueger, 82, of Greentown, died Tuesday, November 22 at her daughters home in Reeders. She was the wife of the late Harry Pflueger, who passed away in February 2011.
Born in Rorschach, Switzerland, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Gemma (Soppelsa) Haener.
Violetta came to the United States in 1954 and in 1955 married Harry Pflueger. Harry and 'Viola' moved from New York to Lodi in 1961, where they raised their three children. Viola was very active at St. Francis School in Lodi. She was also an Avon Lady until her retirement.
In 1991, Harry and Viola built their retirement home and moved to Greentown. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club in Newfoundland and a member of the Tanglewood Woolies ( knitting group). She loved to travel and cook. Viola and her husband, Harry were "Snow Birds" who spent the last 16 winters in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
She is survived by two sons, Eugene Pflueger and his wife, Janet of Medfield, MA, Richard Pflueger and his wife Helen of Lodi, NJ; a daughter, Susan Perry and her husband, Ken of Reeders; a brother, Bruno Haener of Switzerland; a sister, Lony Gupta of Blauvelt, NY; and seven grandchildren, Sarah, Nicole, Michael, Jason, Rebecca, Bryan, and Miranda.
The Reverend Father Richard Czachor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Tannersville. There will be a visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private cremation was entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory in Cresco.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County, 502 Independence Road, East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301
