Obituary of Richard A. Singer
Richard Austin Singer, 84, of Stroudsburg, died Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of the late Joan C. (Rush) Singer whom passed away in 2014.
Born and raised in Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late John and May (Miller) Singer.
Richard was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School, class of 1949. He enlisted in the Marine Corp at the age of 19. Richard fought with the 1st Marine Division in Korea in the "Battle of the Chosen Reservoir". After service, he returned to the Poconos and worked at Hughes Printing until his retirement in 1993. Richard then lived in Chincoteaugue and Atlantic, VA, until returning to Reeders in 2014. He was a life member and past Chief for the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Atlantic VA Fire Department, member of the VFW in East Stroudsburg and Chincoteague, VA, member of the Pocono and Jackson Township Historical Society and the Korean War Veterans Association.
He is survived by his son, Kurt Singer and his wife, Ann of Reeders; daughter, Casandra Dietz and her husband, Bill of Paradise Valley; son-in-law, Warren Ames and his wife, Jodi of Titusville, N.J.; granddaughters: Amanda Dietz of Jersey City, N.J., Nora Ames of Phillipsburg, N.J., and Alina O'Donnell of Titusville, N.J.; grandsons: Jason Singer of Pocono Summit, Zachary Singer of Reeders, Adam Ames of Titusville, N.J. currently serving with the United States Army in Japan; brother, Ray Singer of East Stroudsburg, sister, Janet Dally of Florida; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Joan, Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina L. Singer-Ames and grandson, Willie Dietz.

There will be no services held at this time. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
