Obituary of Michael G. Coughlin
Michael G. Coughlin, 67, of Pocono Lake, died Thursday, December 17, 2015 at home. He was the loving husband of Catherine (Funston) Coughlin whom he shared 47 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of John J. and Marion (Somers) Coughlin.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Michael served during the Vietnam War.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Michael was the true definition of a family man. The beautiful environment and the winters in the Poconos brought Michael and Catherine here in 1988 to purchase their vacation home in Arrowhead Lakes. In 2008 they made it their permanent residence where they would spend many memorable years. Michael was as an avid outdoorsman who loved to explore nature and venture on his snowmobile. He and Catherine also spent wonderful years traveling in their motor home.
In addition to his wife, Catherine, he is survived by his daughter, Christine Gallagher of Throop; brother, Gerald Coughlin of Philadelphia; sister, Rosemarie Elefant of Hamilton, N.J.; three grandchildren, Kevin, Amber, Peyton and his 14 nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his son, Mike Coughlin and his two brothers Jack and Thomas Coughlin.
There will be a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 21 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 5112 Pocono Crest Road, Pocono Pines. The Reverend Father Sean Carpenter will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
