Obituary of Wolden Magann

Wolden "Huck" Magann Age 89, of Mountainhome, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 17, 2015. Wolden was a native son of Mountainhome, born to Walter and Edith (Barr) Magann, on October 19, 1926. He graduated Barrett Consolidated School in 1944 and joined the U.S. Navy. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Penn State University in 1949, member Phi Beta Kappa. Wolden worked as an Aerospace Division for North American Aviation, Republic Aviation/Fairchild Hiller, and General Electric. Interests included geology, genealogy, bridge, woodcarving, and sports. Wolden was a lifelong member of the Mountainhome United Methodist Church, and volunteered at the local food pantry, CAME. He was a founding member of the Barrett Township Historical Society, as well as a member of the Delaware Valley Paleontology Society. Wolden and wife, Jacqueline received the 2015 Citizen of the Year Award for Barrett Township. Wolden is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; daughter, Mrs. Jean Bibber, Mountainhome; daughter, Kathleen Hale, Wrightsville; son, Michael Magann, Mountainhome; daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Hawley, Pickerington, Ohio; as well as two grandchildren, Amy and Drew Hawley, Pickerington, Ohio. He is preceded in death by son, Thomas Wolden. A memorial service will be held at Mountainhome United Methodist Church, Saturday, January 16th at 11 a.m., with the Reverend John Keretzman officiating. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CAME and the VNA Hospice Association. Bolock Funeral Home, of Cresco will be handling arrangements.
