Obituary of Dominique James Childress

Dominique James "Nick" Childress, age 29, passed away suddenly at his home in Long Pond on December 14, 2015. Born in Wahiawa, Hawaii on May 14, 1986 he was the beloved son of Aaron Childress of Hughesville, Md. and the late Constance (Daigle) Childress. He will be lovingly remembered by his stepmother, Jodi Childress of Hughesville, Md.; his brother, Jacob Morin and his sister, Pavasiya Nugent. Also a stepbrother, John Miller and stepsisters: Melissa, Katelyn and Lauren Miller. There are also several nephews and a niece. Nick is remembered with love by family members, grandmother, Doris Campbell and her husband, Maynard; aunts: Teresa Childress Gilliam, Linda Daigle, Brenda Daigle, Bernice Pelletier, Nancy Caron and her husband, James and Ellen Daigle wife of Guy Daigle who preceded Nick in death; uncles: Terrence Wilson, Adrian Wilson, Antonio Campbell, Richard Daigle, Maurice Daigle and his wife, Kate, Reno Daigle and his wife, Laura, and Ronald Daigle and his wife, Gabrielle. Also surviving is a great-uncle, Lorenza Childress and his wife, Grace; great-aunts: Serelda Burns, Delores Mattox, and Carol Carter. Nick also had many cousins with whom he shared a great bond. He was preceded in death by his mother, several aunts, uncles and his two cousins. He was a 2004 Honor Society graduate of Pemberton High School. He graduated number 10 in his class. He proceeded to Penn State University main campus where he received a Bachelor Degree in Logistics. Nick had a passion for working with technology. At the age of 14 he had built his first computer. He was employed as a Manager at Verizon wireless and was a great inspiration to his crew working there with him. Nick had received the Verizon Managers Award. They told us he always had a smile and gave everyone great motivation within the store. He enjoyed spending time with family whenever his busy schedule allowed and in his free time he also enjoyed playing video games within a gaming association online. Nick is going to greatly be missed by all who loved him so dearly. We will carry on his memory within our hearts. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday January 2, 2016 at Bolock Funeral Home 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
