Obituary of Lonnie F. Van Sant

Lonnie F. Van Sant, 59, of Pocono Pines, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at home. She was the wife of John D. “Dave” Van Sant, with whom she shared 31 years of marriage. Born on Aug. 25, 1956, in Morristown, New Jersey, she was a daughter of Stanley and Judith (Rubin) Shustin. Lonnie was well known and liked at the Lakeside House Restaurant before devoting her life to her daughters, and in time, her grandchildren. The love she shared with her family was profound, and her absence will be deeply felt by all. She was a woman of endless compassion and care, who welcomed all into her home to share a song, her infectious smile and laugh, her loving hugs, and her famous banana bread that will be sorely missed on the mountain. In addition to her parents and husband, Lonnie is survived by her daughters, Rachel and Andrea Van Sant; her stepdaughters, Coleen and Christine; her grandchildren: Tessa, Alex, Hailey, Hunter, Cody and Nicky; her brother, Henry; and her sisters, Janel and Beth. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A celebration of Lonnie's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Bolock Funeral Home
