Obituary of Anthony Palecco

Anthony "Tony" Palecco, 75, a resident of Canadensis for 26 years, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center in Wyoming Valley. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son the late John and Mary Ann (Bello) Lucien. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Tony served his county from 1958 to 1964 as part of Infantry Division 1st Class and during the Korean War. He later went on to attend New York University. Tony held a strong appreciation and keen eye for architecture and construction. He enjoyed reading, watching the History Channel and listening to oldies music, often singing along to all of his favorites. He was also a very vivid storyteller, everyone always loved listening to him. He had a way of keeping his listeners on the edge of their seats. He is survived by his sister, Janet Holmes of California; his nieces and nephews of California; close friends William Pipolo and Kimberly Stephens and their children, Michael, Olivia and Billy of Canadensis, and the whole Pipolo family. Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
