Obituary of Joy M. Miller

Joy M. Miller, 88, of Stroudsburg, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of the late Russell E. Miller Sr., with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Gouldsboro, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Theresa (McElory) Johnson. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Joy spent her life caring for her family. Her kids will remember her delicious home cooking and the many meals she hosted. She took pleasure in crocheting, painting and drawing, but most of all being around her family. She is survived by her sons: Owen Miller of Tobyhanna, Peter Miller and his companion, Debbie Vechi, of Mount Pocono, Mark Miller of Tobyhanna and Ross Miller of Tobyhanna; her daughter, Patricia Miller Olsen and her husband, Gary, of Blakeslee; six grandchildren: Sherri, Stacy, Michael, Shane, Ashleigh and Skye; and two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Drew. In addition to her husband, Russell, she was preceded in death by her sons, Russell E. and Harold Miller. There will be a viewing from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 7, at Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
