Obituary of Katherine W. Semler

Katherine "Kitchie" W. Semler, 84, of Henryville, formerly of Staten Island, N.Y., died peacefully at home under the care of Hospice, Tuesday, March 1, 2016. She was the loving wife of the late Roland Semler. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Katherine (Wetmore) Perlman. Kitchie was a ballerina during her younger years. She enjoyed playing tennis, raising her family and working for Moller Furniture before retiring and moving to Pennsylvania 27 years ago. Kitchie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her sons: Robert Semler of Iselin, N.J., Ronald Semler of Keansburg, N.J., and Keith Semler of Egg Harbor Twp., N.J.; her favorite daughter, Kathleen Zudjelovic and her husband, Sam of Cresco; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Kitchie was preceded in death by her son, Michael Semler and her daughters-in-law: Ellen Semler and Linda Semler. There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Pastor George Alt will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County, 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home and Crematory.
