Obituary of Vincent A. Ruocco, Sr.

Vincent A. Ruocco Sr., 73, of Scotrun, died on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Joan (Ham) Ruocco, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Bronx, New York, he was a son of the late Dominic and Rose (Madaloni) Ruocco. Vincent attended Seton Hall Prep and Fairleigh Dickenson University, and worked in finance until his retirement from Tiffany & Co. Upon retiring, he loved spending his time golfing and restoring classic cars in which he was involved in car clubs throughout the Pocono region. Vincent enjoyed countless family vacations, which inspired him to purchase his dream beachfront condo in North Hutchinson Island, Florida, a place he shared with friends and family making timeless memories. In addition to his wife, Joan, he is survived by his children: Donna Vorwald and her husband, Craig, of Collegeville; Susan Mastroviti and her husband, Angelo, of Budd Lake, New Jersey; Vincent Ruocco Jr. and his wife, Jaime, of Pennington, New Jersey; Richard Ruocco and his wife, Michele, of Totowa, New Jersey; Dawn Engle and her husband, Phil, of Hopatcong, New Jersey; and Michael Ruocco and his fiancée, Jessica Smith, of Scotrun; a brother, Joseph Ruocco and his wife, Cathy, of Wichita, Kansas; and his grandchildren: Jim, Kerri, Richard, Janine, Angelo, Nichole, Jim, Cristian, Kaitlyn, Brittany, Brandon, Philip, Kayla and Madallyn. There will be a visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Rev. Richard Czachor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Our Lady of Victory Church, Cherry Valley Road, Tannersville. Due to the Lenten season, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Vincent be made to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, 1317 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314 or by logging onto curemeso.org, or the ASPCA. The family would like to express its sincerest gratitude to the VNA Hospice for the continuous support and care.
