Obituary of John Cox

John Cox, 84, of Canadensis passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 in East Stroudsburg, PA. He was the loving husband of Cheryl (Groves) Cox. Born in Pompton Lakes, NJ, he was a son of the late John Sr. and Lucy (Hand) Cox. John was a carpenter and electrician by trade, and for a time was a Police Officer in West Milford, NJ. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: John A. Cox of Sebring, FL, Robert Cox and his wife, Pia of Suffolk, VA, and Bill Cox and his fiancée, Tracy of Canadensis; daughters: Jean Birmelin and her husband, Bob of Lake Ariel, and Kathleen DeMet and her husband, Nick of Glouchester, VA; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by one brother, Richard Cox. There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home and Crematory.
