Obituary of Elbert Anderson, Jr.

Elbert “Andy” Anderson, Jr., 67 of Henryville, died on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at his home. He was the loving husband of Carol (Mafull) Fortier. Born in Greenville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Elbert Anderson, Sr. and Tillie (Blunt) Anderson. Elbert was a former OR Tech at Beth Israel in Newark, NJ. He was also a member of Union 1199. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed taking in all of nature’s beauty and tending to his garden. In addition to his wife, Carol he is survived by three daughters; Lois Anderson of Baltimore, MD, Latisha Stokes and her husband, Dominick of Florida, and Lynnette Brown and her husband, Levi of Arizona, one step-daughter; Michele and her husband Bill Caulfield of Toms River, NJ, three step-sons; Paul Fortier and his wife Carmela of Brick, NJ, Steven Fortier and his wife Michele of Highbridge, NY, and Anthony Fortier and Dakota Perry of Reeders, one brother; Allen Thomas Anderson of Greenville NC, two sisters; Mary Rose Anderson of Ayden, NC., and Lena May Blunt of Greenville, NC., sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing from 2 pm to 5 pm on Thursday, April 14th at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A Service will follow at 5pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Elbert may be made to VNA Hospice of Monroe County, 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 1830. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
