Obituary of Filomena "Fannie" Polito

Filomena “Fannie” Polito, 92, of Tobyhanna, formerly of Bronx, New York, entered into the eternal rest, Monday, April 18, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony “Puggy” Polito Sr. Born in New York, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina (Gavio) D'Amico. She has entered the gates of heaven and is talking on streets of gold and has gone home to the Lord. Fannie was a loving wife and mother, a devoted grandmother and “Mima,” and friend who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children: Grace Conti and her husband, Joseph, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; Donna Ardanuy and her husband, Raymond, of Hawley; Jeanne Gallo and her husband, Gaetano Jr., of Tobyhanna; and Adelaide Annunziato and her husband, Frank, of Somers, New York; and her 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, and parents, Fannie was preceded in death by her beloved son, Anthony Polito Jr. There will be a viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Rev. John Boyle will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at Villa of Our Lady, 245 Meadowside Road, Mount Pocono. Interment will follow in the Our Savior section of St. Raymond's Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Ave., Bronx, New York.
