Obituary of Catherine M. Hess

Catherine M. Hess, 72, of Pocono Lake, died Friday, May 13, 2016, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of Joseph Hess, with whom shared 32 years of marriage. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Katherine (Atherton) Pakian. Catherine was a manager in the restaurant business for many years before residing in the Poconos. She loved tending to her gardens and expanding her brain power by doing word search and crossword puzzles. In addition to her husband, Joseph, she is survived by her children: Daniel Gall and his fiancée, Heather, of Moosic; Matthew Gall of Manville, New Jersey; Thomas Gall and his wife, Melissa, of Lehighton; Joseph Hess III of Lehighton; Michael Hess of Parsippany, New Jersey; and Christine Hess of Lehighton; and nine grandchildren. Services will be private. Cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
