Obituary of Henry Edward Brunn

Henry “Eddie” Edward Brunn, 92, of Pocono Lake, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at his home. He was the loving husband of Della (Keiper) Brunn, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Hanover Green/Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Henry and Alice (Morgan) Brunn. Henry received his education in the Nanticoke Public Schools, graduating in 1942. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and from 1942 to 1946 was stationed at several naval stations aboard the USS Chandeleur in the Pacific Theatre. In 1947, he attended Bloomsburg State College, graduating in 1950. Henry was a pitcher for three years on the baseball team. In 1953, he received his master's degree from Penn State University. Henry taught mathematics in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York State. In addition to his wife, Della, he is survived by his brother, James H. Brunn of Kingston, and many nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his brother, Herman Brunn. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Pastor Sherry Keiper will conduct a service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery at Pocono Lake Wesleyan Church, Locust Ridge Road, Pocono Lake.
