Obituary of Gregory Vincent Cacace

Gregory Vincent Cacace, 55, of Long Pond, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at his home. He was the loving husband of Ellen Marie Saunders, with whom he shared 26 years. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Celia (Maniero) Cacace of Wisconsin, and the late Joseph Cacace. Gregory enjoyed the outdoors; you would often find him hiking and walking his dogs in the neighborhood and visiting with his many friends. He was friendly, easy going, and will be missed by all. In addition to his wife, Ellen, he is survived by his children, Michael Saunders-Cacace and Anthony Providenti and his wife, Alicia, all of Long Pond; brother, Robert Cacace and his wife, Ann, of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Luca and Larenzo Providenti of Long Pond; and his furry children, Duke, Sugar, Daisy and Kilo. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Rev. Fr. Sean Carpenter will conduct a blessing service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA, by visiting aspca.org. Private cremation is entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory with interment in Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York, to follow at a later date.
