Obituary of Franklin G. Hester

Franklin G. Hester, 91, of Mount Bethel, died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the home where he was born in 1925. Born and raised in Mount Bethel, he was the son of the late Vernon G. and Idella F. (Rasley) Hester. Franklin was a farmer who spent his entire life dedicated to the Mountain View Poultry and Fruit Farm, one of the last five generational farms remaining in the area. He is survived by his sons: Kevin S. Hester and his wife, Dianne, and Kent D. Hester and his wife, Kathi, all of Bangor; his daughter, Kylee A. Hester of Stamford, CT; four grandchildren: Zachary, Klay, Matthew, and Kyle Hester; a great-grandson, Kolton Hester and several nieces and nephews. Franklin was preceded in death by his sisters, Grace H. Hughes and June M. Stampone. The family wishes to extend its sincere appreciation and gratitude to each of the individuals with Heartland Hospice of Allentown who provided unsurpassed care and extraordinary support over the past numerous weeks. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25 at Trinity United Church of Christ, Mount Bethel, followed by a memorial service by Pastor Joyce Weishaupt at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Reformed Cemetery, Mount Bethel. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
