Obituary of Harriet E. Morris

Harriet E. (Leverich) Morris, 72, of Long Pond, died Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Easton Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Bruce B. Morris, whom passed away the year before on July 2, 2015. Born in Ossining, New York, she was a daughter of the late James and Madelyn (Craft) Leverich. Harriet was a very loving and caring woman who came from a large family so she was more than willing to welcome anyone into her home and care for them as her own. She would not only provide care for many children over the course of 30 plus years, but was affectionately known as "nanny" to many of them because she also provided a grandmothers love. Harriet took great pride in raising her three daughters with that same love along with her grandchildren as well. Her hobbies included playing bingo at many local fire companies or the American Legion in Pocono Pines, she also spent a lot of time tending to her flowers around her home, visiting the American Legion with her husband for a beer or even a slow dance, or just enjoying the sounds, or Hank Williams Jr., Patsy Cline, or Conway Twitty playing from her record player. She is survived by her daughters, Peggysue Belanger of Arrowhead Lake, Sharon A. Smith and her husband, Randy, of Blakeslee, and Carol A. Ramm and her husband, William, of Hanover Township; three grandsons, Michael, Scott, and Joseph; six granddaughters, Christine, Corissa, Vanessa, Elizabeth, Gillian, and Emily. She was also blessed with two great-grandsons, Jackson and Logan, with another great-grandson on the way; one great-granddaughter, Brielle. She is also survived by three sisters, Ruth, Jean, and Dorothy; and her five brothers, James, William, Herbert, David, and Walter; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, and husband, Harriet was preceded in death by her brother, Pierre; and sister, Phyllis; and her son-in-law, Peter Belanger. There will be a visitation from 4 to 5 p.m., Friday, July 8, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
