Obituary of Henry Thomas Greenway, Sr.
Henry Thomas Greenway Sr., 92, of East Stroudsburg, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 of natural causes. He was the loving husband of Bernadine Gertrude (Vocht) Greenway, who passed away in 1980.
Born in Paterson, New Jersey, formally of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Harry and Sarah (Fitzpatrick) Greenway.
A proud World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, 421st Signal Batallion. Upon returning from World War II he became a life long professional driver for the Teamsters. He was a member of the American Legion Post 245 in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. In his retirement he was a Dealer Trade driver for the Abeloff Dealership, Stroudsburg and volunteered for the Area of Aging.
He is survived by his son, Henry Greenway Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of East Stroudsburg; daughters: Kathleen Mawhirt and her husband, Robert, of Wantage, New Jersey; Virginia Tomala and her husband, Joseph, of Sussex, New Jersey; and Anne Greenway of Hackettstown, New Jersey. Also, sister, Eileen Barnes of Wayne, New Jersey; grandchildren: William, R. Will, Jessica, Craig, and Cory; great-grandchildren: Dena, Pete, and Henry; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. Cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
