Obituary of Frederick R. Planer, Jr.

Frederick R. Planer, Jr. 63, of Albrightsville, died Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of Bette (Ponce) Planer with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, he was the son of Frederick R. Planer, Sr. of Montgomery, Alabama and the late Nina (Earhart) Planer. Frederick spent most of his working career as a truck driver, but also worked as a zinc miner, farmer, caretaker of Camp Canadensis, and for the past ten years worked for JA Reinhardt & Company as a machinist. He was an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his wife, and father, he is survived by his sons: Rick Planer and his companion, Rachael Fluegel of Tobyhanna, and Kyle Planer and his wife, Jeanine of Cresco; four grandchildren: Jesse, Juli, Kody, and Emma. Frederick was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Planer. There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, September 23 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road. Father Michael Salnicky will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
