Obituary of Mark Sadowski

Mark Sadowski, 60, of Tobyhanna, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016, surrounded by his family. Born on June 20, 1956 in Rahway, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Walter Vincent and Irene Claire (Smigoski) Sadowski. He was a Control Room Operator at PSE&G, Jersey City, New Jersey, until he retired in 2006 after 26 years of service. Mark and his wife, Claudia Sadowski, recently celebrated 35 years of marriage. Behind Mark’s gruff “Oscar the Grouch” exterior was a heart of gold. To those who knew him, he was a truly warmhearted man. He has left a deep and lasting impact on his family with his years of sacrifice, dedication, hard work and love. Some of Mark’s happiest times were spent coaching youth soccer, mentoring not only his own children, but a multitude of their peers, through the Pocono Mountain Youth Soccer Association. Mark is survived by his wife, Claudia Sadowski of Tobyhanna, his three children, Mark Adam Sadowski of Redwood City, California; Matthew Sadowski of Tobyhanna; and Kaitlyn Sadowski of Goldsboro, North Carolina, along with two sisters-in-law, whom he considered sisters, Janie Hopkins and her husband, John of Rahway, New Jersey; and Robyn Quinn and her husband, William of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. There will be a viewing on Thursday, September 22 from 4-7 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father John Boyle will conduct a blessing service on Friday, September 23 at 9:30 am at the funeral home. Private cremation is entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
