Obituary of James Gravatt

James G. Gravatt, 78, of Pocono Pines, died on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at VNA Hospice House at CMC, Scranton. He was the loving husband of Rose "Rusty" (Strauss) Gravatt. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Ester (Branson) Gravatt. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, James was self employed in the Real Estate Industry. He owned and developed many businesses in the area including: Cobble Creek Estates in Tannersville, Pocono Water Refining, Arthur Treachers and the Mucky Duck Restaurant, Jim Gravatt Plumbing and Heating and Jim Gravatt Naomi Pines Real Estate in Pocono Pines. In addition to his wife, Rusty he is also survived by three sons: Steven Gravatt of Colorado, Randy Gravatt of Idaho, Gary Gravatt of Mt. Pocono; a step daughter: Robin Spiker of Mt. Pocono; a sister Gail Hein of Westfield, NJ; five grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, January 4 from 6 to 8:30 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Cresco. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 5 at 10:30 at St. Maximilan Kolbe Church in Pocono Pines. Interment at the Indiantown National Gap will be private.
