My sister, Kat, died from renal cancer a week after her 51 birthday. Weeks later, I received an unexpected package in the mail. Inside were 2 mosaic hearts Janet had made for me. Janet said for me to hang them together, Kat and my heart would not be separated, even though mine was broken. She knew because she had also lost a sister.
They hang in the window by our kitchen table, and bring a warm feeling to me at every glance. This is my fondest memory of Janet.
