Obituary of Elena Petrescu

Elena Petrescu, 91, of Stroudsburg, died Sunday, October 23, 2016 at home. She was the loving wife of the late George Petrescu, whom passed away in 1996. Born in Bucharest, Romania, she was the daughter of the late Dimitrie and Filoftea-Ecaterina Popescu. Elena was a member of St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church in Easton, Connecticut. She is survived by her sons, Constantin Petrescu and his wife, Margareta of Stroudsburg and Dumitru Petrescu and his wife, Cristiana of Hamden, Connecticut; grandchildren: Stephanie Petrescu, Mihai Petrescu, and Mihaela Kubasta; great-grandchildren: Elise, Adrian and Maisie. Elena was preceded in death by her siblings: Lelia, Felicia, Nicolae, and Anastasia. There will be a viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 26 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Cristian Mihail Preda will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 27 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, South Sterling.
