Obituary of William M. Golden
William M. Golden, 71, of Shoemakersville, formerly of Mount Pocono, died on Friday, October 28 with his family at his side. He was the husband of Karen (Wolff) Golden with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Murray) Golden.
A proud veteran, William served four years with the United States Coast Guard. After serving, he became employed with Verizon as a splicer, and would retire as a construction supervisor after 30 years. He would later work at Lowe’s in Mount Pocono until his illness.
William adored his family and was so proud of all of his children. He enjoyed every moment he had with his wife, children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by his daughter: Holly Parham and her husband, Barry of Myerstown; sons: Kyle Golden and his wife, Carissa of Hellertown, Colin Golden and his wife Becky of Easton, MD; sister: Mary Catherine Delmar of Tunkhannock; brother: Martin Golden of York; seven spirited grandchildren: Shae, Sylvie and Asher Parham, Amelia, Finley and Teagan Golden; and several brother and sister-in-laws. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Rees Parham.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, November 1st from 4-7 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 2nd at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Ann, Main Street, Tobyhanna. Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow.
