Obituary of William Cora

William Reyes Cora, Sr., 89, of Tobyhanna, died peacefully, on Monday, October 31st at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart. He was the loving husband of the late Estelle (Pagan) Cora with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Pacifico and Rosa (Reyes) Cora. A proud veteran, William served with the United States Navy, during World War II from 1944-1946. After serving, William began work for the New York City Housing Authority, where he retired as a supervisor for NYC Housing Authority. William was very active, he was a member of the Seniors Club in Pocono Country Place and had earned his Black Belt in Taekwondo and taught it to the kids in his community. He enjoyed playing bingo and taking bus trips to the casino with his friends. He is survived by his son, William Cora, Jr. of Manhattan, New York; daughter, Diana Donnelly and her husband, James of Tobyhanna; former daughter-in-law, Sylvia Guerra Cora of Staten Island, New York; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing On Thursday, November 3 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Revered Father Gregory Loughney will conduct a blessing service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will take place on Friday, November 4 at 9 a.m. at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
