Obituary of Wanda Grose
Wanda Claire Grose, 86, of Mt. Pocono, died on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of the late John Staunton Grose.
Born in Simpson, on April 28, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Bessie (Gillen) Lesofsky.
She was an employee of the Post Exchange at the Tobyhanna Army Depot from 1980 until the age of 82. The friends that she acquired during her employment there were special to her and she looked forward to seeing them every day. She was an active volunteer with the United Way for many years. She loved to garden and read and would often spend her time caring for her backyard animal friends.
She is survived by a daughter; Sherry Bell and her husband Frank of Easton; two grandchildren: Tara Leigh Lorah and her husband William of Telford, Robbery Carter III of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; a great grandson: Carter Scott Lorah; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, John, James, William, and 3 sisters, Jean Zarnowski, Emily Garvin and Alberta Lifshitz.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, January 12 from 10-11 am at the Mt. Pocono United Methodist Church, 12 Church Ave in Mt. Pocono. A funeral service will follow at 11am at the church. Burial will take place at St. Paul's Church Cemetery in Swiftwater. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carter Lorah's college education fund.
