Obituary of Damaris E. Ryerson

Damaris Ryerson, 46, of Reeders, died Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Celtic Hospice in Wilkes-Barre. She was the loving wife of Glenn Ryerson, with whom she shared 20 years of marriage. Born in Northern Columbia, South America, she was one of 15 children and a daughter of Pedro Pablo Bobadilla Luna and Josefina Del Carmen Almendrales of Colombia. Together with her husband, Damaris co-owned and operated Eats & Sweets on busy route 611. Damaris became the heart and soul of Eats & Sweets. She was loved by both customers and staff. Damaris often referred to her staff as "her girls and boy" and was a Mama Cita (mother little) to a few hundred of them over the years. Damaris was even responsible for two staff members who eventually married years after being employed by Eats & Sweets. In addition to her husband and parents, Damaris is survived by 12 siblings, Robison Bobadilla Almendrales, Eurgenio Bobadilla Almendrales, Iveth Bobadilla Almendrales, Ana Bobadilla Almendrales, Yajaira Bobadilla Gamarra, Dora Bobadilla Gamarra, Jessica Bobadilla Gamarra, Dairo Torres Almendrales, Maria Torres Bobadilla, Luis Torres Bobadilla, Jennifer Torres Bobadilla and Carlos Torres Bobadilla all of which reside in Colombia. There will be a visitation from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
