Obituary of Mary Teresa Mele-Moon

Mary Teresa Mele-Moon, 67, of Pocono Summit, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at home. She was the loving wife of Edward W. Moon, with whom she shared 29 years of marriage. Born in Corona, Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Anthony and Mary Teresa (Armento) Mele. Until her retirement, Mary worked for Time Inc. Magazine as an Accountant. She was an active member of Most Holy Trinity Parish in Cresco and belonged to the Prayer Shawl Group, the Finance Council, the RCIA Teacher Committee and Most Holy Trinity Church Lady & Tea group. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brothers, James Mele and his wife, Angelina, and Joseph Richard Mele; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Billotto, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Moon, Mr. Richard Moon, Ms. Diana Moon; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great- great nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 3, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday, February, 4 at Villa of Our Lady, 245 Meadowside Road, Mount Pocono. A committal service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 6 at Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Flushing, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Camp KCS, 1647 Long Pond Road, Long Pond, PA 18334.
