Obituary of Albert Steinberg

Albert Steinberg, 86, of Pocono Pines, died Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Mountain City Healthcare in Hazel Township. He was the loving husband of June (Lynch) Steinberg, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Leo and Bertie (Kerr) Steinberg. Al was a graduate of Cooper Union and the Students Art League. He was a watercolor artist who also taught watercolor at Lake Naomi community center. He has exhibited at Buck Hill, Sky Top, Pocono Manor and many other galleries where he has been presented with awards. Before retiring, Al was a successful businessman and operated an award winning advertising agency on Long Island, New York. As a full time resident of Lake Naomi, Al was very active within the community and was instrumental in making the Lake Naomi Club a year-round facility. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Dale Elgort and her husband, Barry, Kate Aymong and her husband Doug, Sean Vetter and his wife, Teresa, and Joseph Vetter and his wife, Donna; and seven grandchildren. There will be a visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 4, at Salem United Church of Christ, 108 Church Street, Pocono Pines. Pastor Mike Lonergan will conduct a service at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
