Obituary of Jacob Edmund Seip

Jacob Edmund "Starman" Seip, 82, of Buck Hill Falls, died Saturday, February 11, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital in Easton. He was the loving husband of Phyllis (Kelley) Seip, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Born at home near Mount Pocono, he was a son of the late Asher and Elizabeth (Coppinger) Seip. Starman graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy in 1951, Lafayette College in 1955, and Harvard Business School where he received his MBA in 1957. Starman was a well known real estate developer and appraiser, as well as teacher, in the region. He was a raconteur and bon vivant who celebrated all of the kind people he met along the way. He was a loyal member of The Pomfret Club in Easton, PA, as was his father before him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Jacob Seip, Jr. of Mountainhome and daughter, Anne Renee' Seip of Buck Hill Falls. There will be a viewing from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, February 19 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Monday, February 20 at St. Ann's Church, Tobyhanna. Burial will be private.
