Obituary of Laura Paulakis

Laura Paulakis, 67, of Mount Pocono, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Pocono Health System Hospice Care Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of Basil Paulakis with whom she shared 20 years of marriage. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Patricia (Morris) Wisboro. Laura worked as a legal secretary in Manhattan, New York, and then retired to become a homemaker. She and her husband moved to Mount Pocono 2 years ago. Laura was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Pocono Pines. She was a dedicated, wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jessica Kelter and her husband, Justin of Orange County, New York; two stepdaughters, Marcella Glorgou and her husband, Argiris of East Norwich, Long Island, and Margaret Demola and her husband, Joseph of Hillsdale, New Jersey; stepson, Theodore Paulakis of Staten Island; brothers, Steve Wisboro of Staten Island, New York, and James Wisboro of Queens, New York; she was blessed with nine grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 13 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Pocono Pines. Reverend Father Sean Carpenter will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Stroudsburg Cemetery.
