Obituary of Frank Struckle
Frank Struckle, 96, of Cresco, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono in East Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of the late Elsie (Korosec) Struckle, having celebrated 59 years of marriage.
Born in Davis, West Virginia, he was a son of the late John and Jennie (Sernel) Struckle.
He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. Frank retired from the Tobyhanna Army Depot in 1981. After retirement, he was custodian at Pocono Central Catholic for many years. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Most Holy Trinity Parish in Cresco. Frank was a Knights of Columbus 4th degree. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed horse racing, polka dancing, vacationing, fishing, and was an avid bowler who was proud of his highest game of 299. He thoroughly enjoyed playing the slots at Mt. Airy and always found a way to come home a winner.
He is survived by his sons, Donald Struckle, Sr. and his wife, Karen of Cresco, and David Struckle and his wife, Marjorie of Jordanville, New York; grandchildren, Donald Struckle, Jr. and his wife, Christina of Westfield, New Jersey and Melissa Struckle of Cobleskill, New York; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Struckle of Westfield, New Jersey, along with several nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Joe and Edward Struckle and sister Jennie Sega.
There will be a viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 12 at Villa of Our Lady, 245 Meadowside Road, Mount Pocono. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.
