Obituary of Kathryn E. Scarpone Padian

Kathryn Elizabeth Scarpone Padian, 88, of Cresco passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long illness on Sunday, May 7, 2017. 

Born April 8, 1929 in Irvington, New Jersey, Kathryn was the loving wife of the late William F. Padian. She was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Parish and the Pocono Mountain Seniors in Cresco, Pennsylvania.  She was a loving mother to 11 children, 36 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by Joseph Scarpone and his wife Mary Ellen of Palm Coast, Florida; Kathleen Rolland of Canton, Michigan; Gloria Scarpone (wife of James) of Rockaway, New Jersey; Daniel Scarpone and his wife Philomena of Kunkletown, Pennsylvania; Susan Pirrocco and her husband Tony of Scotrun, Pennsylvania; Linda Wassmer and her husband Bill of Collierville, Tennessee; Terry Martino and her husband Frank of Budd Lake, New Jersey; Margaret Mehall of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey; Paul Mehall of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey; John Scarpone and his wife Connie of Blakeslee, Pennsylvania; Michael Scarpone of Cresco, Pennsylvania; and Paul Scarpone and Tammy Popek of Hunlock Creek, Pennsylvania. She also was anticipating the arrival of three more great grandchildren from Joseph Pirrocco, William Wassmer and Dylan Scarpone.  She was preceded in death by her parents John and Kathryn Sullivan and her sister Mary (Sullivan) Arkebauer, Joseph James Scarpone of Cresco, Pennsylvania, and her son James Francis Scarpone of Mine Hill, New Jersey.

There will be a viewing on Tuesday, May 9, from 3 to 6 pm at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am on Wednesday, May 10 at the Church of St. Ann, Main Street, Tobyhanna. Interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.
