Obituary of Richard Wayne Whiteford, Sr.

Richard Wayne Whiteford, Sr., 77, of Pocono Pines, died Sunday, May 7 at his home. He was the loving husband of Dolores (McIlhenney) Whiteford, who have been married since 1961.

Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Charles and Marjorie T. (Bechaver) Whiteford.

Richard attended St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Pocono Pines and was a member of the Pocono Lions Club and the Stroudsburg Moose Lodge. He was an extraordinary kind man who had a way of making friends wherever he went.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Rick Whiteford from Los Angeles, California, Christopher Whiteford of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Charles B. Whiteford of Parsippany, New Jersey. Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Alan C. and Donald J. Whiteford.

Services will be announced at a later date. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
