Obituary of Anne Marie Alcamo

Anne Marie Alcamo of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the age of 75. Anne Marie leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years, Ignatius "Nat" Alcamo.

Born on July 30, 1941, raised in Rockaway Beach, New York, Anne Marie spent most of her life in New York.

After graduating from Stella Maris High School she went on to St. Clare’s School of Nursing where she met Nat Alcamo, a SUNY Maritime College student, at a college mixer. Nat and Anne Marie married on October 7, 1961, shortly after graduation. Over the next 55 years, they dedicated their lives to each other and their children and grandchildren. Anne Marie would want everyone whose lives she touched to know that she lived a happy and full life, valuing the relationships with her friends, family and her faith. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished her husband, children and grandchildren and was the supportive “glue” that held her family together. A day did not go by in which she failed to tell or show her family how much she loved them and how proud they made her. She will be deeply missed but her spirit and joy of life will live on in her husband, children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Virginia (Michael) Keane and Bernadette (Casey) Minton; her sons, Ignatius (Laura) Alcamo, Jr. and Vincent Alcamo; her grandchildren, Benjamin and Sarah Minton and Amanda, Brian, and Erin Alcamo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Irene (Fitzpatrick) McGowan and her sister, Margaret Mary (Anthony) Basile.

There will be a viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 2 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 5112 Pocono Crest Road, Pocono Pines. Reverend Father Sean Carpenter will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the church. A reception will follow at the Lake Naomi Club, 122 Route 423, Pocono Pines.

Private cremation is entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
