Obituary of Clair R. Kephart
Clair R. Kephart, 94, of East Stroudsburg, died Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Garden for Memory Care in Easton. He was the loving husband of Dawn (Reynolds) Kephart with whom he shared 38 years of marriage.
Born near Kylertown, he was a son of the late Howard and Florence Kephart.
Clair graduated from Cooper Township High School in 1940, after graduating he served one year in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He worked for Bell Aircraft Corps in Niagara Falls, New York. Clair was called to active duty in 1942 and began Air Corps Pilot Training. In WWII, he was a P-47 Fighter Pilot in Europe. Clair joined Northrop University in California for Aeronautical Engineering and was later employed by Boeing Helicopters until his retirement in 1987. After retirement, he spent ten years as the zoning officer for Paradise Township.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his adopted children; Bradley Oakley, Bobbie Smith, Bruce Kephart; stepdaughter, Brenda Fosbenner; five grandchildren; brother, Richard Kephart; and sister, Doris Noel. He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Mons, and brother, Dean Kephart.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation has been entrusted by Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
