Obituary of Joyce F. Schoch

Joyce F. Schoch, 82, of Swiftwater, died peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospice in Bethlehem, Friday, June 23, 2017.

Born in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles Metzgar and Anna (Christman) Metzgar and was one of nine children. Joyce was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Swiftwater. Before her retirement, she worked for 45 years as a packing manager for what is now Sanofi Pasteur.

She is survived by a daughter, Joan Agins and her husband, James of Swiftwater; a granddaughter, Jamie Agins of Swiftwater; two brothers, Harold Metzgar of Swiftwater and Kenneth Metzgar of Reading; and a sister, Annamae Miller of Reeders. She was preceded in death by her brothers; Charles, Edward, Donald and James Metzgar; and a sister, Adelaide Engle.

The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28th at St Paul’s United Church of Christ, 406 Upper Swiftwater Road, Swiftwater, PA 18370. Visitation will be from 10:30 a. m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will immediately follow.
