Obituary of Pearl Welter

Pearl Olive (Henry) Welter, age 91, passed peacefully at her home in Bangor, on Friday, July 14, 2017.  She was the wife of the late John Hall Welter, who passed away on February 22, 2012.

Born March 1, 1926 in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late William V. Henry, Sr. and Mabel (Pugh) Henry of Stroudsburg.

Pearl was a very strong, intelligent and talented woman who loved the beach and enjoyed crabbing and clamming in Chincoteaque, Virginia.  She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, crossword puzzles, traveling, cruising and bingo.  In her younger years, she enjoyed square dancing and bowling in the Ladies League at Colonial Lanes in Stroudsburg.

She worked previously at Monroe Silk Mill in Stroudsburg and was later employed by Ronson Corp in Delaware Water Gap.

She is survived by three daughters: Gail and her husband, William Grant of Spring Hill, Florida, Susan and her husband, Michael Ruggiero of Bangor, and Bonnie and her husband, Charles Rhode of Biglerville.  Also survived by grandchildren: Shawn FitzPatrick, Brad FitzPatrick, Michael Ruggiero and Christopher Ruggiero; her sister, Mildred Fish; brother, Jerry Henry and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Welter and her brothers, William V. Henry, Jr., Clarence Henry, Robert Henry, and Norman Henry.

There will be a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Rd, Cresco. Pastor Samuel Kofi-Ashley will conduct a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Kellers Cherry Valley Cemetery, Cherry Valley Road, Cherry Valley.

Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
