Obituary of Clifford L. Oppelt

Clifford L. Oppelt, 61, of Canadensis, died Monday, August 21, 2017 at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (Seese) Oppelt, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage.

Born in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Henry and Jean (Price) Oppelt.

Clifford was an SAL member of the American Legion Post 922 in Canadensis and Forest Fire Crew 34 for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and belonged to the Oak Springs Hunting Camp in Skytop. Clifford enjoyed spending time with his family and camping in Bloomsburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Cliffy Oppelt, William Seese and his wife, Jackie, and Allen Seese and his wife, Marie; brother, Allen Oppelt and his wife, Barbara; sister, Cheri Jones and her husband, Sam; grandchildren, Cassandra, Madison, Robert, and Sara; great-grandchild, Gracie and many nieces and nephews. Clifford was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis.

There will be a visitation from 10 to noon Saturday, September 9 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Pastor Greco will conduct a memorial service at noon at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Clifford, may be made to: Forest Fire Crew #34, PO Box 44, Cresco, PA 18326. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
