Obituary of Marjorie C. Woehrle

Marjorie C. Woehrle, 88, of Mount Pocono, died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital Monroe in Bartonsville. She was the loving wife of the late William Woehrle, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in Long Pond, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Alma (Miller) Smith.

You could often find Marjorie waiting on her customers at Woehrle's Bait Shop in Mount Pocono. She had been active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company, and recently looked forward to her daily card games with her beloved sister Shirley. Marjorie enjoyed television and was always joined in her naps by her cat Jessica.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Woehrle and his wife, Kate of Mount Pocono; sister, Shirley Smith of Little Summit; brother, Earl Smith of Long Pond; as well as dozens of nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Amos Smith, Alvin Smith, Deward Smith, Lloyd Smith, Audrey Swink, Edna Mansfield, Naomi Jocsak, and Clark Smith.

There will be a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 26 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will conduct a memorial service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Marjorie requested that memorial donations be made to the Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Medical Service, whose paramedics were so helpful and patient with her as her health declined. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
