Obituary of Charles F. Oddy, Jr.
Charles F. Oddy, Jr., 73, of Long Pond, died Monday, October 9, 2017 peacefully at his home. He was the loving husband of Laura G. (Williams) Oddy, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles, Sr. and Evelyn (Hart) Oddy.
Charles worked his entire career as a 911 operator in New Jersey. He spent the last 25 as an operator with the New Jersey State Police. Charles won several Commendations and Awards for his performance as an operator. He was of the Catholic faith and member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Tannersville.
Charles studied at the College of William and Mary VA, William Penn College Iowa and Athens College GA.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Clayton Oddy and his wife, Wendy of Scotrun, Clinton Oddy of Tobyhanna, and Wade Oddy and his fiancée Mandi of Scotrun; sister, Barbara Williams of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; grandchildren, Natalie, Emily, Zackary, Dakota, Tracey, Kendrick and Abby; and several nieces.
There will be a viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, October 12 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 327 Cherry Lane Road, Tannersville. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.
