Obituary of Raymond L. Keiper

Raymond LeRoy Keiper, Jr., 71, of Pocono Lake, died Monday, October 9, 2017 at Geisinger CMC in Scranton. He was the loving husband of Eleanor J.  (Williams) Keiper, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

Born In East Stroudsburg on July 24, 1946, he was the youngest of ten children to the late Raymond L. and Helen R. (Stout) Keiper.

He was a graduate of the class of 1967 at Pocono Mountain High School, in Swiftwater. Raymond was a volunteer for the Tobyhanna Township Ambulance and Fire Company in the late 60's and early 70's. As a boy he was a scout in troop 94 and became a scout leader from 1983-1985. Raymond was employed at Pocono Lake Preserve for 25+ years as a carpenter, and passed his knowledge to his sons and grandson. He loved lending a helping hand and had volunteered his time to help build the kitchen at the Pocono Lake United Methodist Church in Pocono Lake.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Pamela Eckerman and her husband, Michael; son, Mark Keiper and his girlfriend Donna Simpson; son, Thomas Keiper and his wife, Nicholle. He was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Andrea, Jimmy, Madison, Ryan, Faith, Wyatt, Jacob, Gunnar, and Elizabeth. Raymond is also survived by his sisters, Jane Fisk, Mary Hamill, and Pat Carson; brother, James; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Elizabeth, Mabel, Robert, John, and Norman "Jake".

There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 13 and a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m.  Saturday, October 14 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Reverend Jessica Ross will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14 at the funeral home.

Private cremation is entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
