Obituary of Janet M. Berger

Janet M. Berger, 94, of Easton, formally of East Hanover, New Jersey, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Weston Sullivan Trail Personal Care in Easton. 

Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Dorothy (Beckleman) Mones. 

Janet was a graduate of Fordham Law School in New York City and a member of the New Jersey Bar. She had her Master's degree in Secondary English and taught English at Clifford J. Scott High School in East Orange, New Jersey. After her retirement, Janet continued her education in various fields. She loved yoga and fitness, and was active at her local gym, four days a week until the age of 91. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards and was a Life Master Bridge Player. 

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Slinger and her husband, Roger of Cresco; grandchildren, Scott Slinger, Jason Slinger, Andrew Slinger, and Victoria Slinger Rowe; ten great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. Janet was preceded in death by her son, James Berger, whom passed away in 2015. 

There will be no services at this time; private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
