Obituary of Joseph A. Mellia
Joseph A. Mellia, 84, of Milford, Pa, died Monday, December 11, 2017 at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Antoinette (Occhiuto) Mellia.
Born in New York, New York, he was a son of the late Joseph and Concetta (Catalano) Mellia.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Joseph served in the Armed Forces Reserve. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 922 and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his children, John Mellia of Yonkers, New York, Linda Follini of Rye Brook, New York, Diane Smith of Conroe, Texas, Lori Solomon of New City, New York; brother, Thomas Mellia of Nanuet, New York, and Charles Mellia of Tampa, Florida; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald C. Mellia.
There will be a visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 17 and from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday, December 18 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, Pa. Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 19 at St. Ann's Church, Main Street, Tobyhanna, Pa. Entombment will follow at Laurelwood Mausoleum, Stroudsburg, Pa.
