Barbara Warneke

Obituary of Barbara N. Warneke

Barbara Nan Warneke, 60, of Mount Pocono, passed away on Sunday, January 7th at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest with her family by her side. She was married to the love of her life, Robert Warneke with whom she shared 38 years of marriage.

Born in Jersey City, she was a daughter of Daniel Kowalyk of Secaucus, NJ and the late Nellie (Lewchuck) Kowalyk.

Family was the epitome of who Barbara was, whether it was telling stories, spending time at the cabin, lounging on the beach or playing a friendly game of hockey, she was always ready to create new memories. She adored her husband with whom she spent 44 years of her life with, she being only 16 and he 18 when they began dating. Her daughter, Heather was indescribably her biggest achievement and she was so proud of all of her accomplishments.

She was a lover of all animals, especially horses which she raised for many years. She enjoyed antiquing and had a keen eye for treasures of the past and at the end of the day she found calmness in reading a good book with her cat, Puss Puss warmed up next to her.

Most importantly, she was a blessing to all who knew her; she will be fondly remembered for her kind heart and her infectious laughter.

In addition to her husband, Robert and father, Daniel she is survived by her daughter; Heather Stanford and her husband Ward of Pittsburgh; sister: Natalie Scarano and her husband Ralph of Secaucus, NJ; nephew and niece: Dylan and Annabella Scarano; and her furry feline companion, Puss Puss.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, January, 11 from 3-5 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A service will begin at 5pm at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date in New Jersey.

Private cremation is entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
